Clean Hands Organics | Organic Skincare in Shawnee, Kansas

 

Clean Hands Organics is a small-batch, family-run skincare company based in Shawnee, Kansas, created with one simple purpose: to provide clean, healthy, and trustworthy skincare for families who care about what they put on their skin.

I’m Julie — founder, formulator, and maker behind Clean Hands Organics. I’m a wife, a mom of six, and I homeschool. In the middle of full days and a busy home, I became deeply aware of the ingredients found in everyday skincare products. I wanted better for my family — cleaner ingredients, simpler formulas, and products made with integrity.

So I started learning how to make them myself.

What began with soap-making — starting with what is still my favorite, the Pure Magic Charcoal Face & Body Bar in Lavender — slowly grew into a complete line of organic, all-natural, small-batch skincare products. Each formula was first created for my own home. Only after we loved and trusted it did I offer it to others.

In 2024 I decided to share my products with the Shawnee community and surrounding Kansas City area. What began as a small Christmas offering has grown into a thriving Kansas women-owned skincare business, supported by loyal customers, local boutiques, and fellow small businesses who believed in me from the beginning.

And it truly is a family effort.

My husband, Tim, supports the business behind the scenes — handling labeling, troubleshooting equipment, sourcing supplies, and stepping in wherever needed (all while working his full-time job).

My son, Hank, hand-drew our praying hands logo, which has become a meaningful symbol of both our faith and our mission. He also serves as my in-house tech support, helping me with all things tech related.

My daughter, Nora, works alongside me filling orders, organizing production, and helping maintain the systems that allow our small-batch skincare process to stay consistent and personal.

At the heart of our home — and this business — is our faith. We are grounded in the belief that caring for our bodies is part of stewarding what God has given us. Church, Bible study, and learning about God during homeschool Bible time are foundational in my life. That same intention carries into every product I create.

Outside of the workshop, I’m passionate about CrossFit and HYROX endurance training. Physical strength and wellness matter to me, and that commitment to overall health — inside and out — shapes how I approach skincare formulation.

As Clean Hands Organics continues to grow in Shawnee and throughout Kansas, we are excited to expand our product line with new skincare blends and a thoughtfully developed clean makeup collection, in the near future.
